About the DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY MEDICINE

In 2009,  the Department of Emergency Medicine was established by East Avenue Medical Center. It became the pioneer Emergency Medicine Residency Training Program among Department of Health Accredited Hospitals.

The Department of Emergency Medicine continues to provide quality emergency health care services to our patients at the Emergency Department and Trauma Center (EDTC). It also serves as an avenue for comprehensive training of emergency physicians through its 4-year Philippine Board of Emergency Medicine (PBEM) accredited program.

The Department of Emergency Medicine is responsible for triaging and resuscitation of unstable patients, ambulatory care services, and mass casualties at the EDTC. The Department also leads the deployment to different mass gatherings and disaster response within and outside of the hospital. It also provides support for the tele-consult program of the Department of Health – National Patient Navigation and Referral Center.

The Department of Emergency Medicine continues to move forward with the development of the Emergency Medical Services and Disaster Medicine Fellowship Training Program.
