The Rehabilitation Medicine Department is uniquely equipped and staffed to provide comprehensive medical consultation and treatment, physical, occupational, and speech therapy, most especially in the areas of neurologic, orthopedic and pediatric rehabilitation.
Way back in 1969 the hospital has a 350 bed capacity and its staff has only 6 physical therapists, currently it is now approved for 1000 bed capacity with 29 physical therapists, 4 occupational therapists and 1 speech language pathologist.
The Center also has 4 physiatrist. Our operational schedule is Monday to Saturday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The department is averaging 167 patients in a day and is bracing for an era of the new normal.
Getting our patients back to functional level requires more than just overcoming their physical challenges, but as well as providing emotional and mental support.
Our team of rehabilitation medicine specialists works together with our Physical therapists, Occupational therapists and Speech and Language pathologists in providing the utmost medical care and services.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we helped in the implementation of guidelines and provide information about the virus.
Our department has show support to other clinical departments by augmenting man power and providing help in any way we can.
This year, Phase 2 of the Brace Shop is to be realized, and its expansion is underway.
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation has a long way to go but it ha its small wins. Everything is possible if we WORK, CARE AND SHARE.
