NURSING SERVICE DIVISION

 

The East Avenue Medical Center – Nursing Service Division is a cornerstone of excellence, providing a diverse range of specialized services aimed at meeting the unique needs of our patients. With a steadfast commitment to innovation, compassion, and professional development, our division stands at the forefront of quality healthcare delivery. It includes Comprehensive Services and Specialty Nursing Care Centers. We offer a wide array of specialized services designed to address various medical needs from emergency trauma care to specialized treatments in dermatology, toxicology, and ophthalmology ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care.    


The EAMC- Nursing Training Unit is highly recognized as the flagship provider institution and training ground for the Department of Health Nurse Certification Program for Emergency Trauma Nursing Specialty. Through comprehensive coursework and hands-on experiences, participants gain proficiency in rapid assessment, triage protocols, advanced life support techniques, and trauma-informed care. This training program embodies the Department of Health’s commitment to enhancing emergency healthcare delivery, ensuring nurses are prepared to deliver timely and compassionate care in high-pressure environments, ultimately saving lives and improving patient outcomes.  

Specialty Nursing Care Centers: includes three major centers of our institution.   Our specialized training program is equipped to handle the most critical and sensitive medical emergencies with precision and efficiency. From life-saving interventions to compassionate patient support, Nurses undergo rigorous training to excel in high-pressure environments, ensuring optimal outcomes for every patient. Toxicology Nursing– provides specialized care for patients affected by poisoning, drug overdose, and toxic exposures. Nurses are trained to swiftly assess and manage toxicological emergencies, employing evidenced-based practices to mitigate harm and promote recovery.  Dermatology Nursing – Offers comprehensive care for patients with dermatological assessment, wound care management, and dermatologic conditions ranging from common skin disorders to complex dermatopathies. Ophthalmology Nursing– specializes in the diagnosis and management of eye disorders, providing compassionate care to patients with diverse ophthalmic needs. Nurses undergo extensive training in ophthalmic assessment, diagnostic procedures, and post-operative care, enabling them to deliver exceptional support to patients undergoing eye surgeries.


The Nursing Training Unit  is a subunit under the  Nursing Service Division which establishes specialty nursing programs, that not only enrich the skills of our in-house nursing staff but also extend training opportunities to external nurses seeking to enhance their expertise such as the Immersion Training for Emergency Trauma, Ophthalmology nursing, In-House Nurse Cross Training and soon to start Basic Burn Care, Stroke Nursing, Program for the Underboard Nurses as Surgical Instrument Aide, etc .

These programs serve as a testament to our dedication to advancing nursing practice and elevating standards of patient care across the institution. In addition to delivering specialized care, our Nursing Service Division is committed to nurturing the next generation of nursing professionals through comprehensive training programs.
